In controlled, safe environments with qualified instructors, children work each week towards BA Proficiency Awards 'Badges' 8-1 and Advanced Bronze, Silver, Gold awards in a range of Gymnastics disciplines such as Acro, Pairs, Floor and Apparatus.

.....So there's plenty to be getting on with!

BADGE TESTING

We aim to 'Badge test' twice yearly. We like to make them very casual and fun for children and during these lessons they will work in groups on the different levels.

Coach's will evaluate a child's progress throughout the whole term and children will have a test sheet of skills to learn. They must pass 8 out of 10 moves to progress through the levels. This is always a fun time and the emphasis is on enjoyment and individual progression rather than a Pass or Fail.

If a child does not reach the level that term, they are awarded with a special BRIGHT STARS certificate to say they are 'Working towards' a certain badge. We believe that it is important to reward those for trying as well as passing. We want them to feel they are still achieving and always moving forward at any level.

Some badges are harder than others and may need 2-3 terms or more to master so please be aware when you are talking to your child about awards, especially around BAGA 3. For this reason we do not 'present' children with their awards in front of parents each term. We find this way is much less demanding on those children that have not quite made their level yet. Also, we know that parents work and can not always get in to watch classes especially before school. Please email us if you have any questions or concerns regarding awards, we will be happy to help.
